Documentary about Maori Language and Culture

Logline

A short documentary telling the story of how Te reo Māori was banned from schools in New Zealand in the 1800s but how the language still lives on today. With a movement beginning in the 1960s, a strong revitalization effort has brought Te Reo Māori back into the lives of the Kiwi community.

Taranaki Area - February 2025

Tiki Multimedia is excited to partner with PF Media to create a short documentary to hightlight the revitalization efforts of the native Te reo Māori language in New Zealand. We are looking to interview a handful of individuals who grew up without the language in their home or at school, individuals who were taught Maori and anyone who has a connection to the revitalizaiton efforts.
